Now in its 9th year, last weekends Hackney WickED DIY Open Studios showcased the talented residences of east London. Priding itself on being ‘the world’s most concentrated creative community’ The Wick and Fish Island had twenty seven studio locations and site specific installations open to the public, with a further 4 spread over the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

As part of the 2016 UrbanPhotoFest I walked from Charlton to Greenwich along the Thames path with the artist Peter Luck – past various wharfs, boat repairers and crazy aggregate depots and opposite the even crazier construction of yet more souless housing.



The Radcliffe Camera, Oxford

Kicking off a much-needed May mini break, Mr Hope and I landed in Oxford last week for just under 24 hours worth of culture, students and glorious sunshine.


Mini Walking Tour of London, part 1

So, I love walking. I think its the best way to see a city and my recent work trip to London gave me a couple of free afternoons to march around Britain’s capital. For this first walk I got off the tube at Covent Garden made my way to Cecile Court, where two dapper gentlemen were browsing antique maps.
